Rebacca

So it was Rebecca's birthday this weekend and while wishing her a happy birthday on facebook I misspelt her name which led me to think of this fantastical creature. A mixture of Rebecca and Chewbacca complete with a rebel alliance pony!

It's a Unicorn, I swear

What I thought unicorns looked like when I was a kid.
It felt like it was missing something so I added the rainbow

The votes for the "Jim Henson" theme have all been counted and verified but unfortunatly we must hold off announcing the winner till Tuesday due to the fact I haven't any winners prize today....

So in the meantime while you eagerly await the news of which piece won. Here is one of my all time favourite Muppet clips. Big Mean Carl and some Furry Bunnies!

Here is Ana Bucjacz submission. The Swedish Chef with his favourite Guseppe Arcimboldo. She must have forgotten to post it before she left us for greener pastures over in Spain. A Ghost is a Ghost

I actually had a blue Ghostbuster proton pack when I was a kid. Made completely out of plastic with stickers for the screens and lights, and a giant yellow foam thingy for the proton stream. You eventually run out of ghosts to catch from the movies :)

Ghostbuster play day :)

When I was young, my father used to put gel on my thick short hair and with a hoover and a cereal box (plus the nerdy glasses) we used to go play Ghostbusters :) aaahh good whole childhood!

and here's the pic when we were young :D love the sticker my dad made for the jumper !

it's not for you

very last minute!

My Tarantula

My pet spider ate its first cricket after fasting for 5 MONTHS!!!  Apparently Tarantulas can live up to 2 1/2 years without food! He had me worried for a while, what a Cutie!!

"Slow Milk"

"Slow Milk" is a piece by Danielle O'Brien, a.k.a. Robin Hoshino of News of the Curd (www.newsof thecurd.com). Featured at her exhibition "Biosphere" @ Tamp and Stitch yesterday. Congrats to Danielle on a very sucessful opening night! Exhibition runs til June 5th and pieces are selling fast.

Baby Slow Loris

Baby Slow Loris in a tree. These poor little mites are on the endangered species list cause people think they are so cute they want them as pet.. Dopes!!!! Watched a documentary on them a few weeks back and they are fascinating little creatures but it's all very sad.
It is also very sad that I had a nightmare trying to colour and finish the damn picture so I say F**k it the sketch is better then knowt.

Loris Behaviour: These guys secret a toxin from their underarm glands that they lick and mix with their own saliva. They lick themselves and their young with this toxic saliva to protect themselves from predators and parasites. You get a bite off a Slow Loris and your in a bit of trouble and can be left pretty badly scared from the toxin mixing in the wound.

Animal Behaviour

Quick ink painting. Last minute as always!

Karma Karma Karma K-animal behaviour!

Decided to experiment with a GIF this month, so here's some unusual animal behaviour all gif'd up!

Here's a pic too, just for the craic!

T-REX

This kid's is behaving like a Trex...
Dunno where the idea came from but I do remember running round the house with my arms tucked right in shouting like a dinosaur wen I was younger (you know like 17/18)... so I guess its loosely based on that... sept I didn't have a sweet costume!! :(

George

So this is my brother and sister's cat George. I went home to see them the other morning but neither were home. George raced out to sit in the sun when I opened the door and I couldn't get him back in.
So here he is lounging in the sun.

Boulder Kart!

In celebration of the first birthday I'm posting the pic I never got finished for the video game theme.

So here's the roster.

JT - Jamie Teehan - Mario
MP - Mick Plummer - Luigi
NB - Neev Brennan - Peach
PS - Pete Slattery - Yoshi
TG - Tom Gray - Bowser
ES - Ed Smith - Donkey kong
FJ - Fran Johnston - Koopa trooper
GC - Gill Comerford - Toady
JOB - Jenny O Brien
BC - Borja Chicharro Huertas

Borja got moved when Fran posted the koopa pic on the blog, so then I had to balance it out and Jenny has "mad karting skillz" (her words, not mine) so she had to be added then.
