Usoa Rozas

I'm uploading this wonderful little piece on behalf of Usoa Rozas.

The Fang'd One

Very loosely drawn from childhood experience, when a Marrakech salesman put a snake around my neck. This could do with more snakes, but some people have work in the morning :/

All The Good Bois

Here's a bunch of good boi's for this months Pet theme!

Dead Bird Study

Posting this on behalf of Fiona Hamilton. Always good to receive a traditional piece.

This is my first piece of artwork in a very, very long time, so it's really nice to be posting something.

In a bleak concrete environment a man has become so engrossed in his social media, so divorced from reality, that he has failed to notice the passing of his canine companion some time ago.

Hey Guys,

So we have a quick theme for the remainder of May into start of June. Deadline around June 5th so you have the bank holidays to get those creatives socks on. The Theme is

So anything in and around this theme would be awesome, photography, illustrartion, animation. You name it if you made it post it!!!
Looking forward to seeing the entries and remember a nice price for the winner.

Thanks you,

A huge well done to Elisa Bindi for coming in first place for her Avatar submission for her super cute Alicorn Princess.

Hey guys! This is my entry for this month! It's me as an Alicorn Princess LOL

Bjorni-boo the Dwarf suffers from gigantism. At the tender age of ten he towers over the average human, and might be the tallest dwarf in history.

Cruisin' in the Oasis

So this is me getting about in the Oasis. It's supposed to be a place where all Avatars can come to muck around and do what they want hence all that stuff going on in the background. Don't believe all those movies where heroes travel at high speeds without a single hair out of place.

This is my Goblin avatar; Nugtosh. He tames wild ant-eaters.

The quantum consideration of the carrot

My avatar is actually the chicken in the guy's bag. The dude with the carrots is my vehicle. done with procreate app. The carrot (Daucus carota subsp. sativus) is a root vegetable, usually orange in colour. (Wikipedia)Again, thank you Finnbarrr for the title.

NEW THEME-April 2018 "Your Avatar"

Moving swiftly on to April....

There's a new film just out called Ready Player One (I've not seen it yet but have heard pretty good things about it). Here's the link to the trailer

So this months theme is.... "Your Avatar"
We want you to design your own avatar for visiting the 'Oasis' (like in the trailer). This can be characters that exist already, ones that you want to design yourself or even a mix of the two.

How would you get around as well (the guy in the film uses the car from 'Back to the Future') you could also create some transport if you wanted, again using pre-existing designs, your own or a mix. Let your mind run riot.

We look forward to seeing some more really exciting entries.

The Deadline for this will be Tuesday the 8th of May

Happy geeking!!

'If You're Out There'

This is a little looping animation I made in Harmony and comped in After Effects. I wanted to try a full rotation on something in Harmony, it's mad jittery, but it was fun all the same. The concept comes from a short film idea I've been working on called 'Time is a Gift' that I haven't really spent enough time working on, of course, of course.

Hope you guys like it anyway (Y)

Memories of the Space Age

I've been reading a lot of JG Ballard recently so I was inspired by the theme to do a mock up book cover for his short story collection Memories of the Space Age. Ballard is an interesting and challenging writer. He claimed to have more in common with a surrealist painter like DeChirico than a contemporary novelist, and "Ballardian" is given to mean "dystopian modernity, bleak man-made landscapes and the psychological effects of technological, social or environmental developments."
Although this may all seem a little grim, I'd encourage the viewer not to simply accept the most literal interpretation of this image. Although the subject may have befallen a catastrophe, the liberating possibilities of disaster are a central theme in Ballard's fiction. Perhaps our astronaut is simply dreaming of the gantries and runways of Cape Canaveral in the golden era of the Space Age, and will awaken to a new day, where its lost possibilities can be brought to fruition.

Thursday, 15 February 2018

Hi Boulder artbloggers,

Time to kickstart the Boulder artblog for the year, and in honour of the recent launch of The Falcon Heavy into deep space we thought we'd make the theme about that very thing: Space!

And like space itself the possibilities for creative exploration are vast. So we've broken it down into sub sections: Vehicles, Aliens, Robots, Planets. Pick one or as many as you like and let your imagination take you to "where no man has gone before!!" (yeah - you can also pay homage to your favourite sci-fi books, films, comics etc).

We'll run this one until the end of March after which we will all vote on the winner. The winner will receive a special prize.

Anyone new to the company who hasn't already joined the artblog, and would like to, give me a shout and we'll get you added to the account.

Happy doodlin'

Christmas Card Design

I thought I'd make the company itself into a character. I also like the idea of a big boulder golem being innocent and wanting to give gifts to the local wildlife despite its exterior

Christmas Card Competition 2017

Hello people of Boulder,

It's been a while since the last Boulder media artblog competition, but we thought we'd try and end the year on a high by announcing an in-house artblog challenge to design Boulder Media a Christmas card.

Artwork can be in whatever medium you like; drawn, painted, digital, photograph, sculpture, collage.
Feel free to add a festive greeting to your design If you wish.

The deadline for submissions will be the 13th of December with the winner, runner up and 3rd place entries receiving a prize.

For those of you who haven't joined the Boulder media artblog but would like to please provide Gillian Comerford  or myself with your personnel email address (not your work one). You will need to be a member of the blog so that you can upload your image.

Our goal for next year is to keep the blog running with a new theme announced  on a  monthly basis.

Thanks for reading and happy drawing!!!
