Presenting "Mr. Cat" !

These were the notebook roughs I done for my earliest animation experiments at home
using Flash in.....2004 (Flash MX ?!)

You can check the animation done in MR CAT movie (very original title!)

Couldn't find any old pics of mine; my parents were very unsentimental when it came to our kiddy paintings. So this is the earliest example of my artistic endeavours: a crib I made out of Fimo when I was ten and my mum still insists on putting out every Christmas, despite the fact that bits have fallen off along the way (the second shepherd still looks quite chipper despite having lost his BOTH his hands)and the baby got lost years ago and was replaced with a tree decoration. Looking at it now, I find their eyes a bit freaky. Apologies for the poor picture quality.

3 different pics!

The first 2 pics are the oldest drawings I could find over the weekend. Obviously the first 1 is a father's day card I made my dad. I think it's from 86.

The second is from 88. It was Dublin's millennium in 1988 and I was mental for vikings. The cross-eyed thing is a bit mental when I look at it now, but back then me and the kid that sat beside me in school used to draw all our characters with it.

And the third pic is the first drawing I ever did in Boulder. As far as I remember I drew it during week 1 so I'd have something instead of a blue coloured wallpaper.

And on top of the artwork I thought everyone would find this story I wrote when I was 7 funny too. (More Ghostbusters!)

Starboys

Starboy 1.0
Starboy 2.0
For this month's theme I decided to do a new version of a plushie I made from 2007 when I was just starting. This is also the first plushie I've made in aaaaaaages.

You need a Thneed

So I found out I have NO drawings around from when I was a little kid. None I found this weekend anyway, so I decided to go ahead and bend the theme as suggested!

I did a fanart of a book I didn't like much as a kid due to it being SCARY.
The Lorax (1971) by Dr. Seuss, which I couldn't deal with because the Once-ler was just so upsetting, and the 2012 musical extravaganza of the same name which I could deal with because the Once-ler was a doofus....though still upsetting.

So yeah, two fanarts of one story in two very different times. ENJOY!
inkbrush vs photoshop, inkbrush  respectively

2013..... Theme 10!

Happy New Year everyone!!!

So here we are first Theme for 2013. Same "bendy" rules apply as last year. Submit as many pieces as you like, any medium you like and just have a bit of fun!

The Theme for the month of January is
"Retrospective" (a look back if you like)

What we are aiming for here is for you to find some of your old art work from when you where little. Let's see how good you where back in the day, the further back the better. You will probably also want to try a new piece...so how about recreating the old into something new?
Or
Just taking the theme and run with it...

Good Luck rummaging around in the past. You have till the 4th of February roughly to post up your treasures.

Final Winner of 2012

A huge Congrats to our winner for December 2012 Chris (The Guns) O'Hara. Really cool piece of animation, so nice job. You can check out more of Chris' achievements on his own blog right here

I would like to take this opportunity to say a HUGE thanks to everyone who posted, commented and generally got involed with the Bouldermedia Artblog over the year. It has been a great pleasure seeing all the stunning work you all have up your sleeves and the blog wouldn't be anything without it. So really......
Thank you!!!!

Until next time,
Gill.

A Christmas Carol!

Here is my entry for the December theme based on my favourite Christmas film, A Muppets Christmas Carol. The other versions of the story are crap in comparison.
